We are looking for an Automation Engineer to help us with crane modernization projects
We are looking for an Automation Engineer to strengthen our competence in the field of automation engineering. By joining our team, you would be working with the group of skilled electrical, mechanical and automation engineers in our EMEA Modernizations organization. Working in this team means supporting Konecranes frontline units in engineered modernizations for bridge (EOT) cranes. These modernizations are based on Konecranes solutions and technology. This position is located in our office in Hyvinkää, Finland, thus you will be able to work partly remotely, if you wish to.
Key responsibilities
– Automation engineering of crane modernization projects using Siemens Step 7, TIA Portal and some legacy tools.
– Hardware/software installation, configuration and testing.
– Giving engineering support for our project team’s electrical and mechanical engineers as well as some frontline specialists all over the world.
– Automation site commissioning work in our modernization projects.
– Troubleshooting crane automation on site/via remote connections.
We expect you to have:
– a Bachelors’ degree or higher in automation or software engineering, computer science or electronics.
– Previous experience in automation engineering in machine industry is valued, preferably with technologies including inverter and PLC controls/moving machineries.
– Hands-on experience of project deliveries, especially of automation commissioning
– Basic understanding of Ethernet/IP based device communication
– Minimum of 2 years’ experience with PLC programming tools (especially Siemens Step 7 (S7-300) and TIA Portal (S7-1500)) and field bus systems like Profibus and Profinet.
– HMI programming experience (Siemens WinCC flexible/WinCC TIA)
– You perform well in working with logic problems and systematic problem-solving and you have good communication skills, also under pressure
– Willingness to travel globally estimated 50 days per year
– Site visits for crane applications and commissioning work require driving licence and the ability to work at heights
– Good command in English (written and spoken). Finnish and other languages are an asset
To impress us, you have:
– Knowledge of C#/C++ programming and SQL databases
