We are looking for a Product Owner to join the Machine Data Platform Team (MDP)

Machine Data Platform (MDP) team is looking for a Product Owner to join our group of IoT professionals. Our team is part of the Digital Center of Excellence unit, responsible for the development and delivery of Konecranes Industrial Internet Platform as well as Digital solutions that serve both our customers and company’s business processes. In this role, you will work in a cross organizational setup and you will participate in all stages of software development and operational process: service concepting, technical solution architecture, MVP development, scaling-up, testing and operations.

As a Product Owner, you will be responsible for delivering enabling technologies, APIs, IoT data storage, data transformation and worldwide connectivity for a large fleet of connected machines and the digital services which are enabled by state-of-the-art solutions. The digital services which utilize these enabling technologies include, but are not limited to, machine learning applications, customer web portals and mobile applications on the plant floor level.

The Product Owner reports to Henri Gört, Machine Data Platform Lead, Digital Center of Excellence, Konecranes Technologies.

Key responsibilities

– Translating business requirements into development requirements, specifications and plans.
– Managing the backlog, priorities and progress follow-up of the development team.
– Coordination of development team resources for the flawless execution of development sprints.
– Early phase concept creation and service design.
– Managing the development roadmap and aligning the development and release schedule to activities on partner organizations.

We expect you to have:

– You have experience working in Product Owner or Project Manager roles in IT, OT or IoT.
– Experience on working as liaison between different stakeholders.
– Experience on different agile and project management methodologies like Scrum, Kanban.
– Understanding of the challenges in IT/IoT/Industrial Internet environment.
– Open, curious mindset willing to learn.
– Good communication and language skills in English, both spoken and written is required.
– Willingness and ability to travel time to time.

In addition, we expect you to have a suitable educational background (preferably academic degree in software engineering, computer sciences or software development) and good communication skills. Scrum Product owner certification is considered an advantage in this position, as is understanding DevOps & Lean and any collaboration to open-source software projects.

Also welcome is any experience with machine/OT software systems and/or the control systems or possibly cloud-based data processing, data lakes, big data and/or machine learning. This role is both about technical expertise as well as collaboration with internal stakeholders and external customers and effective communication plays an important role in getting complex issues solved.
