We are looking for a driven Senior Software Engineer, Underground Drilling
Underground Drilling Division within the Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions is responsible for development and sales of premium drilling equipment solutions for underground mining and tunneling globally. Our knowledge of underground drilling applications combined with our customer support ensures that optimal solutions are recommended and delivered to our vast customer base. Our strength is to deliver best-in-class equipment solutions that meet and exceed customer safety and productivity needs.
Our technology development team is currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer. The position is full-time, permanent and based in Tampere which is the center of Drilling, Automation and Software Technology within SMRT.
Your role
As a Senior Software Engineer you will be a member of the technology development team at Underground Drilling R&D focusing on developing software-intensive systems for highly automated equipment. You have a strong influence on Underground Drilling products and participate in shaping the future of automated, safe and sustainable underground mining.
You will participate in the software development of technology development projects as a technical lead. You will steer the software development in a networked environment with subcontracting companies and other internal organizations.
Your Skills And Qualifications
We seek industry experience and knowledge on distributed and real time control systems. Knowledge of C/C++ is required, experience in Qt or web development is considered as a benefit. You are able to take the lead role when needed.
In addition to job specific requirements, you have good interpersonal and communication skills. Fluent spoken and written English is appreciated. We also expect a suitable degree in a relevant field of study.
